Volunteer for HopStart 2022

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Johns Hopkins University. Judge and mentor registration for HopStart 2022 is now closed. Individuals interested in observing teams pitch their new ventures on competition day can still register for the event under the “general admission” registration type here: https://cvent.me/Wrql3Z

HopStart: Hopkins New Venture Challenge recruits alumni, industry leaders, venture capitalists, and entrepreneurs to serve as judges and mentors in order to simulate the real-world process of soliciting start-up funds from early-stage investors.

Mentors provide remote feedback during the first stage of the competition in one of several categories using the business plan development platform LivePlan. This year, we aim to make the mentorship periods more beneficial and flexible by allowing mentors to choose how they communicate with their teams. For additional details, and to apply to become a mentor, please visit our Mentorship page.

Judges have the opportunity to evaluate pitches, select winners, and network with participants on competition day – April 22, 2022 (the competition-day schedule is available here). Please email us at hopstart@jhu.edu for more information on becoming a judge.

Interested individuals can serve as a mentor, a judge, or both.
